Up into the woods! – Mobile spaces for hot days

What if, instead of using technology, we tackled the summer heat with mobile retreats in the countryside?

Due to climate change, homes and indoor spaces – particularly in densely built-up cities – are getting increasingly hot in summer. This Stegreif project is looking for creative alternatives: how can we temporarily move our work, study, relaxation or even sleep to the cooler surroundings of a woodland, garden or park?

The aim is to develop mobile, lightweight spatial solutions that can be folded or collapsed, transported in a rucksack or small handcart, and easily set up and taken down by a single person.

We’re looking for surprising ideas for a temporary retreat in green spaces – somewhere between furniture, an object and a room.
