Planning and design methods help us to separate from traditional, partly unconsciously used solution patterns and to consciously expand the solution space. They can support us in analysing the "planning problem," developing solution approaches and planning concepts, and making decisions. During the course, selected methods for the different planning phases will be presented and applied in exercises. In addition to an introduction to the basics of planning and design methodology, creativity techniques, methods for function-based planning, morphological methods for conceptual design, as well as formal methods for form-finding will be taught. The methodological approaches learned are applied throughout the semester using the example of a hermitage design.
